H.M.S. Banshee was one of forty-two "A" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a "27 knotter".
Service
Banshee was launched at Birkenhead at the works of Laird Brothers. Mrs. Elliott Lees, wife of the M.P. for Birkenhead, named the vessel.[7]
In reserve at Malta in late 1905.[8]
In late 1906 she was in commission with the Mediterranean Fleet.[9]
In early 1910 she was in commission with the Mediterranean Fleet.[10]
