H.M.S. Narborough was one of one hundred and three destroyers of the "M" class built for the Royal Navy during the Great War.

Her name is often spelled Narbrough in contemporary sources – the Navy List in particular.

Service

In May 1916, the newly-completed Narborough was assigned to the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla.[7]

At the Battle of Jutland, she screened the First Battle Cruiser Squadron as one of twelve destroyers operating with the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla.[8][9]

In November 1917, she was one of eight "M"s evicted from the Thirteenth, being sent directly to the Twelfth Destroyer Flotilla.[10]

She was not to last long there, however, as on 12 January she ran aground in heavy fog and was lost, along with Opal.
