H.M.S. Petard was one of one hundred and three destroyers of the "M" class built for the Royal Navy during the Great War.

Service

Petard was added to the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla immediately before the Battle of Jutland, where she screened the First Battle Cruiser Squadron with eleven other destroyers.[5][6]

In November 1917, she was one of eight "M"s evicted from the Thirteenth, being sent directly to the Twelfth Destroyer Flotilla.[7]

Reduced to C. & M. Party on 8 March, 1920.[8]
