H.M.S. Oberon was one of one hundred and three destroyers of the "M" class built for the Royal Navy during the Great War.

Service

In December, 1916, Oberon joined the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla.

On 17 February, 1917 Oberon collided with Lightfoot and Onslow. The Admiralty considered that Lt. Cdr. Bomford had made a serious error in altering back to his original course after making an eight-point turn to starboard, but satisfaction at how he kept the vessel afloat in the immediate aftermath.

Oberon went missing from the Navy List from May through July of 1917, but in August was back with 13 D.F.. However, in November she was one of eight "M"s evicted from the Thirteenth, being sent directly to the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla where she was under the command of the Commander-in-Chief, Devonport.

She was reduced to C. & M. Party at the Nore on 28 November, 1919.
