H.M.S. Manly was one of one hundred and three destroyers of the "M" class built for the Royal Navy during the Great War.

Service

In December, 1914, Manly was one of three "M"s assigned to the First Destroyer Flotilla,[6] but they moved out to Third Destroyer Flotilla in January,[7] and then to the Tenth Destroyer Flotilla in March, 1915.[8]

Matchless collided with Manly on 13 March, 1915 when Matchless's Captain Godfrey Francis William Grayson failed to notify Manly that he had stopped his engines.[9]

Manly collided with Matchless a second time, on 26 July, 1916 resulting in Manly's captain, Ernest Walter Kirkby being cautioned to be more careful in future.[10]

Manly was reduced to C. & M. Party at the Nore on 3 December, 1919.[11]
