H.M.S. Phoebe was one of one hundred and three destroyers of the "M" class built for the Royal Navy during the Great War.

Service

Upon her completion in late 1916 or January 1917, Phoebe was assigned to the Tenth Destroyer Flotilla.

In July 1917, she was transferred to the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla, which was part of the Dover Patrol.

Phoebe, under the command of Cdr. Hubert E. Gore-Langton collided with Murray on 6 September, 1918. Gore-Langton was considered partly to blame for the accident.[5]

In December, 1918, she migrated to the Twenty-first Destroyer Flotilla, a newly-created formation attached to the Grand Fleet.

On 10 November 1919 she collided with the "M" Class destroyer Miranda.

Phoebe was reduced to a C. & M. Party at the Nore on 29 November, 1919.[6]
