H.M.S. Orestes was one of one hundred and three destroyers of the "M" class built for the Royal Navy during the Great War.

Service

Upon completion in mid-1916, Orestes joined the Fourteenth Destroyer Flotilla, being then one of sixteen "M" class destroyers in the formation tasked with screening the Grand Fleet.

In December 1918, she and five other "Ms" were transferred to the First Destroyer Flotilla, whcih was under the command of the Commander-in-Chief, Portsmouth.

Reduced to C. & M. Party at Portsmouth on 17 October, 1919.[6]
