H.M.S. Waveney was one of the Royal Navy's thirty-six "River" class destroyers.
Service
In late 1905, she was one of eight destroyers in the Third Division of the Channel Fleet's Destroyer Flotilla.[9]
Waveney collided with Garry on 26 July 1907 off Beachy Head while the two were proceeding from Chatham to join the Home Fleet. In a possibly related incident, Rother was struck by a steamer.[10]
In mid-1913, serving in the Ninth Destroyer Flotilla — a patrol flotilla.[11]
