H.M.S. Kennet was one of 36 destroyers of the "River" class.
Service
In late 1905, she was one of eight destroyers in the Third Division of the Channel Fleet's Destroyer Flotilla.[8]
On 1 July 1913, she left Malta for Corfu with eight other destroyers under the lead of the torpedo gunboat Hussar.[9] On 4 July, the destroyers left Corfu for Platea, sans Hussar.[10]
In mid-1913, she was serving in the Mediterranean.[11]
Under the command of Lieutenant Farrant, on 8 March, 1915, Kennet was among several destroyers that went to the aid of the mined battleship Ocean, seeing Chelmer rescue 500 men.[12]
