H.M.S. Venturous was one of twenty-five "V" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1917-18.

Service

In December 1917, Venturous joined the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla.[5] In March, 1918, she went to the Twentieth Destroyer Flotilla, part of the East Coast Forces.[6]

She completed to full Crew on 19 June, 1919.[7]

Venturous was re-commissioned at Devonport on 4 December, 1923. By March 1925, she was with Ninth Destroyer Flotilla in the Atlantic Fleet.[8]

She was re-commissioned with Reserve Crew on 23 November, 1925.[9]

Venturous was re-commissioned at Rosyth on 24 May, 1927.[10]

The ship paid off 1 July, 1928 into the Maintenance Reserve at Rosyth.[11]
