H.M.S. C 29 (1909)
Builder: Vickers[1]
Launched: 19 Jun, 1909[2]
Mined: 29 Aug, 1915[3]

H.M.S. C 29 was one of 38 submarines of the "C" class.

Career

There is a discrepancy in the year of her loss, 1915 or 1916. The Technical History offers a plausible context for her loss which says 1916, claiming she was being towed while submerged by a trawler to attempt to surprise a U-boat, and she was towed into a mine.[4]

Captains

Dates of appointment are provided when known.

  • Lieutenant Schofield, in command on August 28, 1915 (1916?) at the time of her loss.[5]
