H.M.S. C 33 was one of thirty-eight "C" class coastal submarines completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
While under the command of Lt. Brownlow Villiers Layard, C 33 collided with the battleship Prince of Wales in June, 1913. Layard had also suffered a collision while in command of C 34 just a few months earlier.[5]
