There is a discrepancy in the year of her loss, 1915 or 1916.  The Technical History offers a plausible context for her loss which says 1916, claiming she was being towed while submerged by a trawler to attempt to surprise a U-boat, and she was towed into a mine.{{UKTH1|p. 12}}
