Charles Hope Robertson

Admiral Charles Hope Robertson, C.M.G., M.V.O., Royal Navy, Retired (19 May, 1856 – 16 January, 1942) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Robertson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 December, 1879.[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 January, 1894.[2]

Robertson was appointed to the Trafalgar on 14 April, 1896.[3]

Captain

Robertson was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1899.[4]

In December 1904 he was appointed in command of the armoured cruiser Cornwall.

He was appointed to President for command of the Scottish Coast Guard District on 21 May, 1906.[5]

Robertson was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 12 October, 1908, vice Neville.[6] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 2 July, 1909,[7] and was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 10 February, 1914,[8] and to Admiral on the Retired List on 2 July, 1917.[9]
