Commander (retired) Cornelius Octavius Regnart (4 January, 1887 – 27 June, 1941) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Winchmore Hill.
In July 1906, Regnart qualified as an Interpreter in Russian.[1]
Regnart was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1908 and started instruction in submarines at H.M.S. Mercury. On 20 August, 1908, he was appointed to join C 1. He left her on 3 May, 1910 when he was appointed in command of the smaller A 1. He moved to command A 13 in September, 1910 and was now functioning as an interpreter in German.
Regnart was appointed in command of the submarine C 7 on 15 October, 1912.[2]
Regnart was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1916.
Retired due to non-service on 2 November, 1925, Regnart was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 4 January, 1927.
