H.M.S. Sturdy was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

Service

Sturdy was reduced to Reserve on 5 March, 1920.

Commissioned on 6 October, 1927.

Commissioned at Rosyth on 11 March 1931 for service "in Irish Waters".

• Commander Alfred E. Evans, 21 June, 1920 – c. August, 1920  (for Reserve Fleet Exercises)
• Lieutenant-Commander Renfrew Gotto, 14 November, 1930
• Commander David J. R. Simson, 26 March, 1931 – 27 April, 1931  (for passage to Devonport)

There seems to be some confusion between Gotto and Simson.
