H.M.S. Tintagel was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

Service

Tintagel was re-commissioned at the Nore on 15 October, 1919.[6]

She was reduced to Reserve at the Nore on 25 February, 1922.[7]

The destroyer was paid off into Maintenance Reserve at Rosyth on 30 March, 1928.[8]

She commissioned at Rosyth on 2 February, 1929.[9]

In June of 1933, her bell was one of about 100 surplus bells announced as being for sale at prices ranging from £1 to £10. Preference would be given to those offers from men with a special consideration in the bell in question.[10]
