Captain (retired) Alan MacGregor Sheffield, (23 October, 1895 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Sheffield was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 March, 1918.

Sheffield was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1931.

Appointed in command of the survey ship Challenger from 12 October, 1931 to 10 November, 1931.
