U.S.S. Denver was one of six Denver Class protected cruisers completed for the U.S. Navy.
Construction
Denver was launched on 21 June, 1902 by Neafie & Levy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, sponsored by Miss R. W. Wright, daughter of the Mayor of Denver.

Denver was commissioned on 17 May, 1904, with Commander Joseph B. Murdock in command.
