Chester Class Cruiser (1907)

Three Chester class scout cruisers (CS-1 through CS-3) were completed for the U.S. Navy in 1908. They were later redesignated as light cruisers (CL-1 through CL-3).

  • two 5-in 50cal Mark 6, fore and aft
  • six 3-in 50cal

1917-18:

  • four 5-in 51cal
  • two 3-in 50cal
  • one 3-in H.A. gun

Torpedoes

Originally:

  • two 21-in tubes submerged on the broadside

1917-18:

  • two 21-in tubes, above water
