H.M.S. Toreador was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending. She was completed after the war.

In 1928, she was transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy, becoming H.M.C.S. Vancouver.

Service

Reduced to Reserve at Portsmouth on 16 August, 1920.[6]

Commissioned at Portsmouth on 1 March 1928.[7]
