H.M.S. Walrus was one of twenty-one "W" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1917-18.
Service
Walrus was commissioned on 5 February, 1918.[9]
She was re-commissioned at Devonport on 6 June, 1924 to serve with the Fifth Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[10]
She was to arrive at Sheerness from the Mediterranean on 8 November 1926 for a re-tubing refit.[11]
Walrus was re-commissioned under the command of Robert Alexander Cassidi at the Nore on 5 April, 1927 to serve with the First Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[12]
She was re-commissioned at Devonport on 11 June, 1929 for continued service with the First Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[13]
The ship was re-commissioned in Reserve on 30 November, 1932 and was assigned to the Maintenance Reserve at Rosyth.[14]
