Commander (retired) Hugh Coningsby Johnson, R.N. (3 June, 1883 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Captain Samuel Arthur Johnson of the Royal Navy.[1]
Johnson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1904.[2]
He was diagnosed with gonnorrhea in 1911.[3]
Johnson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1912.[4]
Johnson was hospitalised several times in 1916.[5]
In August/September 1916, he was appointed in command of the "Fourth Fleetsweeping Flotilla", which may have never existed. I am assuming this was the First Fleet Sweeping Flotilla.[6]
Johnson was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 19 August, 1926.[7]
World War II
He was appointed as Consular Shipping Adviser, Tampico on 22 August, 1939.
