Vice-Admiral SIR Henry Percy Douglas, K.C.G., C.M.G., R.N., Retired (1 November, 1876 – 4 November, 1939) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Rockferry, Chester[?], Douglas gained ten months' time on passing out of Britannia.
Douglas was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September, 1898.
Douglas was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1910.[1]
Douglas was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1915.[2]
Post-War
Douglas was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 1 February, 1927.
Douglas was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 October, 1929. He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral (retired) on 1 June, 1931.
World War II
Mobilised on 28 September 1938 and placed on the Staff of the Commander-in-Chief, Nore with the rank of Commodore, First Class R.N.R.. This appointment was terminated on 9 October.
On 24 August, 1939 he was appointed for duty as Captain Superintendent, Dover, to serve in the rank of Commodore, Second Class. He was in this appointment very briefly, as he died on 4 November, 1939.
