Captain (retired) William Reynard Richardson, R.N. (14 April, 1890 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Harrogate.
Richardson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1910. On 11 April, 1911 he was appointed to Mercury for instruction in submarines.
Although his service record is not entirely clear, Richardson was appointed to a submarine for command on 30 November, 1917. The wording suggests it was a submarine still being completed, and it may have been H 25, although this seems to contradict other data. He remained in it through his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1918 until 19 February, 1919.
Richardson was appointed in command of L 17 on 19 February, 1919 and then to L 19 on 11 June, 1919.[1]
Richardson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1924.
Richardson was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Captain on 14 April, 1936.
