H.M.S. Orion was laid down as Boordhi-Zaffer for the Turkish Navy but was purchased for use in the Royal Navy as one of two Belleisle Class armoured rams.
Service
Re-commissioned at Singapore on 16 May, 1888.[6]
In April 1902, Orion became a depot ship for torpedo boats at Malta, initially under the command of [7] Charles Madden.
In 1913 she renamed Orontes and was converted to a store ship at Devonport. She was sold later that same year.
