U.S.S. Yosemite was one of five Prairie Class auxiliary cruisers acquired and converted for use by the U.S. Navy.

Service

The ship was purchased on 6 April, 1898 and renamed Yosemite. She was commissioned on 13 April, 1898 with Commander William H. Emory, Jr. in command.
