Reginald Thomas Chritchlow
Commander (retired) Reginald Thomas Chritchlow, (1 September, 1885 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Critchlow was confirmed in the rank of Mate on 28 August, 1913. From the outset of the war through September 1915, he served in the destroyer Lively. On 15 September 1915, he was appointed to Dolphin for instruction in submarines.[1]
From November 1915 through 13 February 1917 he served in submarines attached to the depot ship Vulcan, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 28 June, 1916. He served in E 41 from February to September 1917. In the last year of the war, he commanded the elderly coastal submarine B 3.[2]
Chritchlow was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 3 November, 1920 and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 28 June, 1924.[3]
Chritchlow was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 September, 1925.[4]
World War II
Called up at Holyhead for duty as a minesweeping trawler group officer as an acting Commander, 29 August 1939 to 29 January, 1941.[5]
