Henry Hutchinson Robson

Commander (retired) Henry Hutchinson Robson, (24 January, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve before transferring into the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of W. H. Robson, Esq..

Robson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 22 December, 1918.[1]

Robson was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 31 October, 1922 and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 22 December, 1926.[2]

World War II

His stints in command of Capetown were sporadic and temporary, interleaving with an overarching command appointment held by an ailing Captain Percival H. G. James.[3]

Robson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 3 September, 1945.[4]

He commanded the aircraft carrier Perseus, vice Robert Eric Gunston, in the acting rank of Cdr. (retired) from 18 December, 1946 to 3 February, 1948.[5]
