H.M.S. Leopard was one of forty "C" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a "30 knotter".
Service
On 29 August, 1905, as the Devonport Reserve Flotilla engaged in exercises at Torbay, Leopard's steering gear malfunctioned as the formation was being altered, causing her to strike Boyne in the stern. Collision mats were able to stem the damage while the two destroyers made their way back to Devonport under escort of H.M.S. Liffey.[8]
In November 1905, she was one of eight destroyers in the Third Division of the Channel Fleet's Destroyer Flotilla.[9]
In mid-1913, she was operating with the Third Destroyer Flotilla.
By May 1919, Leopard was among 33 obsolete ships awaiting sale.[10]
