Fred Wissler

Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. (retired) Fred Wissler, R.D. (2 August, 1886 – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Wissler was appointed in command of the destroyer Whiting on 19 February, 1918.[1]

Wissler was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 August, 1918. He was demobilised on 19 September 1919.[2]

Retired due to non-service at sea on 3 November, 1922, Wissler was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 2 August, 1923.[3]

World War II

Duty in Halifax and Newfoundland as part of the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, which time was to count as duty in the R.N.R..[4]
