Charles Vernon Anson

Captain (retired) Charles Vernon Anson, (4 February, 1846 – 2 June, 1905) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

In 1865, Anson was awarded the Royal Humane Society's Bronze Medal for saving life from drowning while he was serving in Alecto.[1]

Anson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 22 September, 1865.

Anson received a second Humane Society Award in 1868, their Siver Medal.[2]

Anson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 16 May, 1871.

Anson was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 12 June, 1893.
