Battle of the Strait of Otranto

The World War I naval Battle of the Strait of Otranto took place on 14-15 May, 1917 in the lower Adriatic Sea between an Austro-Hungarian raiding force which had attacked the craft maintaining the Otranto Barrage and an Allied force comprised of Italian, French and British warships which reacted to the foray to force an action.
