Henry Boyle Townshend Somerville

Vice-Admiral Henry Boyle Townshend Somerville, C.M.G., Royal Navy, Retired (7 September, 1863 – 24 March, 1936) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

In May 1915, Somerville was appointed in command of the first class protected cruiser Amphitrite.

In September 1915, he was made captain of the armoured cruiser King Alfred, remaining with her for about a year.

Somerville was murdered at his home, The Point House, Castletownshend, Co. Cork, on 24 March, 1936.
