Admiral Bertram Sackville Thesiger, C.B., C.M.G. (14 January 1875 – 12 May 1966) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1912.

He attended the Royal Navy War College from 3 March - 20 June, 1913, placing second of nine captains.

He was appointed command of the destroyer Inconstant on 25 October, 1914,[1] through the Battle of Jutland.[2]

He was appointed command of the battlecruiser Inflexible on 21 August, 1917.[3]

He was appointed command of the light cruiser Calypso in November, 1917,[4] serving in her at the surrender of the German fleet.
