Rudolph Lancelot Wikner

Lieutenant R.N.R. (temporary) Rudolph Lancelot Wikner, D.S.C. ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Wikner came from Bridlington. On 14 September 1914 he was appointed to the Cromarty Minesweeping Flotilla as a Temporary Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R..

Wikner was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 14 January, 1915. On the 19th, he was appointed to the trawler Stephen Furness.

He served in Thalia from 9 March to 1 December 1916.

Wikner was a gunner in Cotswold from January 1917 before he was appointed in command in February.

Wikner was demobilised on 5 October 1919. He was evaluated as "above average", but lacking in knowledge of the service.
