Lieutenant-Commander Francis Ethelbert Wilmot-Sitwell, (13 October, 1898 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.

Life & Career

Wilmot-Sitwell was a Special Entry to the Navy, entering on 15 February, 1917.[1]

Wilmot-Sitwell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1920.[2]

Wilmot-Sitwell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1928. In 1931, Rear-Admiral A. Dutton opined that Wilmot-Sitwell "gives the impression of being very uncouth."[3]

Wilmot-Sitwell apparently disappeared from the Navy List sometime between 1937 and 1939. He married Winifred Florence on 31 August, 1937 while still a Lt. Cdr..[4]
