Commander R.N.R. (retired) Gilbert Henry Flavel, R.D. (12 July, 1881 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Life & Career
Flavel was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 18 October, 1909.[1]
Flavel was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 18 October, 1917.
In late 1918, he was a commodore of Mediterranean convoys.[2]
World War II
In 1948, Flavel reported himself, at age 67, fit for shore and home service only, as a retired Commander, Post Office Submarine Cable Department.[3]
