Commander (retired) Hugh Nicholas Aubyn Richardson, D.S.O., D.S.C. (23 August, 1903 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Took a submarine course in mid 1925.
Richardson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1927.[1] He served in a number of "L" class submarines through 1930.
Richard was awarded the Stanhope Medal for 1934 for saving the life of seaman E. J. Archer overboard from Wolfhound at anchor in squally Lamlash Harbour, diving 30 feet from the bridge of the ship in the effort.[2][3]
Richardson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1935.[4]
Richardson was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Commander on 23 August, 1948.[5]
