Captain Charles Sedgfield Donner, R.N. (27 January, [illeg] – 17 May, 1892) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

In 1867, Donner was awarded the Royal Humane Society's Silver Medal for lifesaving.[1]

Donner was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 June, 1869.

He married in March 1873. Matrimony may have disagreed with him, as on 27 May he was surveyed at Plymouth Hospital, suffering from acute mania. he was discharged, "cured", on 27 July. Donner was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1882.

Donner was promoted to the rank of Captain on 21 June, 1887.

Died of apoplexy.
