Engineer Rear-Admiral SIR Archie Russell Emdin, C.M.G., R.N. (15 August, 1865 – 15 February, 1950) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Awarded the Newman Memorial Prize. He was made an Assistant Engineer on 1 July 1887 and, after some time afloat, made Engineer in 1891.
Promoted to Engineer Commander on 1 July, 1903.
Emdin would see service at the Battle of Jutland before becoming Chief Engineer of the Dockyard at Invergordon in July 1916, where he served until May 1917.[1]
Emdin was promoted to the rank of Engineer Rear-Admiral on 17 October, 1918. He retired in 1923.[2]
