Admiral SIR Arthur Francis Eric Palliser, K.C.B., D.S.C., Royal Navy (20 July, 1890 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Palliser was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1911.[1]

In July, 1914, he was appointed to Tyne for command of reduced T.B.D.s..[2]

Inter-War

Palliser was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1919.[3]

Palliser was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1924.[4]

On 18 November, 1929, Palliser was appointed to Warspite, additional, as fleet gunnery officer. He was superseded in this role on 26 May, 1930.[5]

Palliser was appointed in command of the battlecruiser Tiger on 15 May, 1931 and was promoted to the rank of Captain shortly thereafter, on 30 June, 1931.[6]

On 20 November, 1936, Palliser was appointed to Cumberland, additional, as a Commodore, Second Class to serve as Chief of Staff to Command-in-Chief, China, vice Attwood.

World War II

Palliser was appointed in command of the battleship Malaya in May, 1940.[7]

Palliser was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 8 July, 1941.[8]

Palliser was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 7 February, 1944.[9]

Palliser was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 16 May, 1947.[10]
