Arthur Horace Walker

Rear-Admiral Arthur Horace Walker (17 August, 1881 – 3 July, 1947) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Walker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 March, 1902.[1]

Walker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1910.[2]

Walker was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1914.[3]

On 17 July, 1917, Walker was appointed to Castor, additional, for torpedo duties on the staff of Commodore (F) Hawksley. He would remain there through the end of the war.[4]

Post-War

Walker would finally quit his post in Castor to be appointed in command of the sloop Cadmus on 19 March, 1919. He left Cadmus upon being promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1920.[5]

In August 1922, Walker was appointed Captain of the light cruiser Cairo.

He was appointed Director of Torpedoes and Mining between October 1926 and December 1928.

In January (September? Both?) of 1929, he was appointed in command of Warspite.

Walker was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 13 October, 1932.[6]

Walker died in 1947 of heart failure.
