Commander (retired) Harry Thring Bennett, D.S.O. (21 February, 1888 – ) served in the Royal Navy. Some Navy Lists call him "Henry".[1]
Life & Career
Bennett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 July, 1909.[2]
Thring was in Canopus at the Battle of the Falkland Islands in 1914.
Bennett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 July, 1917.[3]
In 1918, he was posted to Bermuda to become Master Attendant and King's Harbour Master.
After the war he took command of the Australian surveying ship Geranium.
