Admiral Charles Gauntlett Dicken, Royal Navy, Retired (26 April, 1854 – 7 September, 1937) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Dicken was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 30 January, 1877.[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 6 January, 1888.[2]

Dicken was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 January, 1894.[3]

He was appointed in command of the first class protected cruiser Royal Arthur dated 4 November, 1897.[4]

Dicken was appointed Inspecting Captain of Torpedo Boat Destroyers on 24 February, 1902, and appointed Commodore-in-Charge at Hong Kong on 1 January, 1904.[5]

On 5 July, 1905, he was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral, vice Parr.[6] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 October, 1908.[7]

He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 30 April, 1910,[8] and to Admiral on the Retired List on 3 June, 1913.[9]
