Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. William Brewer Atkins Angus, ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Life & Career
Angus's family came from Liverpool.
Angus was appointed to Vivid for command of an armed trawler in Auxiliary Patrol Area XIV. He was re-appointed in such a role as a Temporary Acting Lieutenant R.N.R. on 6 November, 1915 until being superseded on 7 March, 1916.[1]
On 8 April 1916, he was appointed to Ebro. He served in the ship until being appointed to Gentian on 21 January, 1919, being promoted to the rank of Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. on 21 November, 1916.[2]
In 1919, a Court of Enquiry probed a collision between Gentian and Carnation and concluded that Angus had steered a course that made collision inevitable becuase he had not sutided the relative movement of the two ships.[3]
Demobilised on 17 February, 1920.[4]
