Lieutenant R.N.R. (temporary) D. H. Metcalfe, ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Very little is known of him, except that he was in command of Manica at some point. There seems to be no full account of his name at The National Archives or in those Navy Lists that contain him. Possibly of note: there is a Douglas Howe Metcalfe (b. 1877) found in BT 351/1/96778.
Life & Career
Metcalfe was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. (temporary) on 22 March, 1915.[1]
He left Manica for the hospital on 2 June, 1916. He rejoined her on 24 August.[2]
