Admiral (retired) William Heriot Maitland-Dougall, (6 February, 1819 – 7 March, 1890) served in the Royal Navy. It appears that he was named William Heriot Maitland Dougall before changing his name at some point.

His son, Arnold Maitland-Dougall also served.

Life & Career

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Commander on 23 December, 1842.[1]

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Captain on 21 January, 1857.[2]

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral in January 1875.[3]

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral in June 1879.[4]

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 31 March, 1885.[5]
