Captain (retired) Gerald Anthony Gore Ormsby, D.S.O., R.N. (28 September, 1909 – 30 September, 1992) served in the Royal Navy.
As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.
Life & Career
Ormsby was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 August, 1931.[1]
World War II
Ormsby was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 August, 1939.[2]
Ormsby was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1943.[3]
Ormsby was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Captain on 28 September, 1959.[4]
