Commander (retired) Henry Edmund Sharp, (8 June, 1871 – 18 July, 1913) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Reverend J. P. Sharp of Bourne, Lincoln.[1]

Sharp was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1893.[2]

Sharp was appointed in command of the fishery protection vessel Jackal from 11 January, 1902 to 30 September, 1903.[3]

After Jackal grounded at Fortress [illeg] in 1902, the Admiralty expressed its severe displeasure for Sharp's "want of judgement."[4]

Sharp was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1912. He would die just over one year later.[5]
